Boost Your Business Growth and Minimize Administrative Tasks by Outsourcing Data Entry Services

Many businesses operate entirely to process data. Data is an important and valuable commodity in the modern workplace, and as with so many other resources, efficient management of the data needs to be efficient and well organized.

While some companies are already prepared to handle the deluge of information that their processes can gather, others can become overwhelmed, leading to mistakes. Inaccurate data handling can cause a plethora of headaches, from significant fines due to breaches of CCPA or its European equivalent, GDPR. It can also result in missed revenue and opportunities.

Some businesses, realizing that the data processing will distract them from their core business model, opt to outsource instead. Outsourcing processes, such as customer service call centers, data analysis, and data entry, can be invaluable. It allows the company to access highly skilled workers who are better equipped to handle the data from their services or products without having to set up offices or directly employ staff.

Should my organization outsource data entry services?

The answer to this question depends on how much investment your business has already made in the area of data entry and processing. If you have reached the point where you have an office and staff dedicated to data entry, the potential savings in efficiency and profit will take longer to realize than for businesses on the cusp of making such investments who instead consider outsourcing.

There are multiple factors to consider when determining whether or not outsourcing data entry services would benefit your organization.

The advantages of outsourcing include:

  • Increased efficiency in data processing.
  • Cost savings.
  • Access to highly skilled workers

On the other hand, reliability, privacy, adherence to security protocols, and data integrity should be part of your evaluation when seeking a service provider. Investing time in investigating these prospective providers is crucial to guarantee the safety and security of your company’s data.

Onshore or Offshore outsourcing?

Once a decision has been made to outsource data entry services, you need to consider where you outsourced staff are based. Will it be in your home nation or another country?

  • Onshore providers: Can often provide better customer service due to the closer proximity and natively speaking the same language, but may be more expensive.
  • Offshore providers: Typically, this has significantly lower costs, which is why it is the most popular option, chosen by most companies that opt to outsource. Language barriers and cultural differences may arise, which should be considered when making a decision.

Ultimately, the choice to proceed with outsource data entry services lies in your hands and your organization’s best interests. Ensuring you’ve considered all elements and weighed up the benefits and drawbacks will enable you to make a decision that truly fits your business objectives.

  1. I find onshore to be better for customer service as you want your team to be able to help your customers in your native language without issues of accent or misunderstandings. It can be frustrating for customers to speak with people that are not even from their country. That being said, most other things CAN be done offshore and for much less. This is the case within the US anyways. I had to downsize for awhile and am looking to expand now, and I will be taking the offshore approach for administrative work for sure.
